Danni Reches is a PhD fellow and research associate at the Haifa Center for German and European Studies (HCGES) at the University of Haifa. Her PhD dissertation focuses on migration and discourses, which brings together elements from everything she studied before the PhD: the BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University (incl. a semester abroad at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), the 1-year Honors Program in Peace & Conflict Studies from Haifa University, and the MA in Diplomacy, also from Haifa University.

While at the start of an academic career and a fairly new research topic, she wonders how those who blazed the trail before her managed to juggle research, career building and a social life. Through conversations with both young and established scholars over a drink, she hopes to get tips and recommendations that can help her and anyone else in the same shoes to accomplish their goals.
